Privacy Policy — AutoExchange

AutoExchange ("the app") is a car marketplace app connecting dealers and buyers, built on the AdsExchange platform. This page explains what information the app collects and how it's used.

Information we collect

• Account information: name, phone number, WhatsApp number, business name (optional), and city, provided when you register or log in as a dealer.
• Listing content: vehicle details, price, description, and photos you submit when posting a car ad.
• Login session: a secure authentication token stored on your device to keep you signed in.
• Notification token: if you allow notifications on your phone or in your browser, an identifier from Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging that lets us send alerts to that device. It is removed when you log out.
• App activity: how you use the app: which ads you open and roughly how long you look at them, when you tap to contact a dealer on WhatsApp, when you share or save an ad, the search filters you use in Browse (for example make, model, city, year) and how many results they found, when you open the app, and which app version you are using. This is linked to your dealer account.

We do not collect your device's location, your contacts, or the content of your WhatsApp messages. When you tap to contact a dealer, we record only that you tapped, not what you send.

How we use it

Your account and listing information is used to operate the marketplace: creating your dealer profile, publishing and displaying your car listings, and letting buyers contact you.

We use your listings to find matches: when a car is posted that fits one of your Wanted ads (or a dealer posts a Wanted ad for a car like yours), we tell you in the app's notification inbox. We also use the inbox for occasional announcements from the AutoExchange team, such as a new app version. If you allow notifications on your phone or in your browser, we also send these to that device as alerts. You can turn match alerts and announcements off separately in your Profile.

App activity is used to understand and improve the marketplace: which cars are in demand, which listings get attention, which searches find nothing, and how many dealers use the app. It may also be used to show you how your own ads are performing, as totals (for example "120 views, 8 WhatsApp contacts").

What's visible to other users

When you post a listing, your WhatsApp number is shown to other signed-in dealers on that listing so they can contact you directly. A shared listing link shows the car, but not your name or number. Your name, the phone number used for login, and account details are not shown to other users.

Your app activity is never shown to other dealers. Other dealers do not see that you viewed, saved or contacted them about an ad. Only the AutoExchange team can see individual activity, for running and supporting the service.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers or analytics companies. Your information is stored on AdsExchange's own servers and is not shared with third parties, except as needed to operate the service (e.g. cloud infrastructure providers hosting our servers). Alerts on your phone or in your browser are delivered through Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging, which receives the alert's title and text and your device's notification token in order to deliver it.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your account and listing data while your account is active. App activity records are kept for 12 months and then deleted automatically.

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app: Profile → Delete Account. This immediately removes all your ads from the marketplace, erases your name, business name, phone and WhatsApp number and password, deletes your saved ads, notifications and notification tokens, and signs you out on every device. It can't be undone. What remains is an anonymous record with no personal details, kept so that other dealers' notifications and our overall statistics stay consistent; app activity linked to it is deleted on the normal 12-month schedule. You can register again later with the same number as a new dealer.
